About
Created by Château La Coste owner Patrick McKillen, The Shinmonzen sits on Shinmonzen-dori beside the willow-lined Shirakawa, in the most photogenic corner of Gion. Its nine suites use hinoki baths, shoji screens and natural materials, with contemporary art throughout. The restaurant by Jean-Georges Vongerichten is open to non-guests by reservation.
