About

Opened in April 2024 near Myoho-in and Sanjusangendo, Six Senses Kyoto takes its cues from the Heian period, especially Sei Shonagon's Pillow Book. Its interiors use dark wood, kimono-inspired fabrics and seasonal artwork, and it is arranged around a central courtyard garden. The spa includes a Japanese bathhouse with hot and cold pools, and the all-day restaurant serves Kyoto produce with a farm-to-table focus. The bar and café are open to non-guests, and the hotel's location puts Sanjusangendo, the Kyoto National Museum and Chishaku-in within a few minutes' walk.
