About
Nison-in takes its name from the two Buddha images in its main hall, Shaka and Amida, sending off and welcoming souls. Its broad, straight approach lined with maples is one of the finest autumn walks in the Arashiyama area. Behind the halls, paths climb to old graves of nobles beneath Mount Ogura. It sits between Jojakko-ji and Gio-ji on the Sagano walking route.
