About

Kayabuki no Sato is the main village of Miyama, 30 km north of central Kyoto. Nearly 40 thatched farmhouses line the slopes above the Yura River, and most are still lived in. Visitors stroll the lanes, visit the small folk museum and the Little Indigo Museum, and photograph the roofs. Winter snow and the spring and autumn hose-spraying tests are favourite photo times.
