About
Menya Takakura Nijo opened in 2006 and is credited with popularising tsukemen in Kyoto. The thick, nutty noodles are served with a dense dipping broth of pork and seafood with a hint of sweetness; curry tsukemen and a lighter ramen are alternatives, and the bonito rice is a perfect side. The same team runs Sugari. It sits on a quiet corner between Marutamachi and Karasuma Oike, near the Kyoto International Manga Museum.
