About
Manshu-in is a monzeki temple, traditionally headed by members of the imperial or noble families, at the foot of the eastern hills. Its shoin-style rooms open onto a karesansui garden of white gravel and clipped shrubs. The temple is far from the main sightseeing circuits and usually calm. It pairs well with Shisen-do and Enko-ji nearby.
