About

The Kamogawa Delta is the triangle of land where the Takano and Kamo rivers join to form the Kamogawa, just north of Imadegawa. It's a favourite gathering place for Kyoto University students, families and couples, and has appeared in films and anime. Stepping stones, some shaped like turtles and plovers, cross both rivers, letting you hop from the delta to the banks. Behind it lie the woods of Tadasu-no-mori and Shimogamo Shrine. On summer evenings people bring beer and food; in spring cherry blossoms line the banks.
