About
Tateyama Castle was built in 1580 by the Satomi clan and demolished in 1614. A concrete three-tier keep modelled on Inuyama Castle now stands on the hill and serves as an annex of the Tateyama City Museum, displaying material on Takizawa Bakin's epic 'Nanso Satomi Hakkenden'. The top floor gives views over Tateyama Bay and, on clear days, Mount Fuji.
