About
Usuki Castle was founded in the 16th century by Otomo Sorin on Nyujima, then an island in Usuki Bay. Today the grounds are a public park with stone walls and surviving Edo-period turrets. It is a National Historic Site and one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles.
