About

Founded in the 8th century, Usa Jingu is the original shrine of the Hachiman cult and one of the most important Shinto sites in Kyushu. Its upper and lower precincts sit among large camphor trees, and the vermilion main hall is a National Treasure. Worship here follows an unusual form with two bows, four claps and one bow.
