Saryo Tenjo Sajiki (Kamenoi Bessou) 茶房 天井棧敷
Atmospheric attic cafe at the venerable Kamenoi Bessou inn by Lake Kinrin, set in a relocated late-Edo sake brewery. Coffee by day, Bar Yamaneko by night.
About
Upstairs in Kagiya, the shop building of Kamenoi Bessou (one of Yufuin's most storied inns), Tenjo Sajiki occupies the loft of a sake brewery building moved here from elsewhere and rebuilt with its massive smoke-darkened beams. Classical music plays, light filters through small windows, and the menu runs to carefully brewed coffee, cheesecake and 'mont blanc'. After dark the same space becomes Bar Yamaneko. It's a perfect escape from Yunotsubo crowds, five minutes from Lake Kinrin, and a way to experience the Kamenoi Bessou aesthetic without staying overnight.
