About
Oka Castle was the seat of the Nakagawa clan and stands on a steep ridge above the gorges around Taketa. Although the buildings are gone, its towering stone walls and panoramic views remain. The composer Rentaro Taki spent his youth in Taketa, and the site is associated with his song 'Moon over the Ruined Castle'.
