About
Umi no Koen ("sea park") is a large seaside park in Kanazawa Ward, south Yokohama, with a crescent of soft sand about 1 km long. It is the only official swimming beach in Yokohama city, opening in July and August, and in spring it draws crowds for free shiohigari clam digging at low tide. Windsurfers use it year round, there are barbecue areas, and the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise aquarium and amusement island sits just across the water, connected by a bridge. The Kanazawa Seaside Line stops right at the park.
