About

Meigetsuin began in 1160 and is best known for its 'Meigetsuin blue' Hime Ajisai hydrangeas lining stone steps in the rainy season. An inner garden behind the main hall opens to visitors during temporary openings. Outside June it is a quiet temple with autumn colours in the rear garden.
