During the 1590 siege of Odawara, Hideyoshi built this stone-walled castle on a hill facing Odawara Castle in about 80 days, then cut the trees to make it appear overnight. The Kanto region's first stone-walled castle survives as a free park with views over Odawara and Sagami Bay. Continued 100 Fine Castles.
