Coin Lockers · Shin-Okubo Station 新大久保駅 コインロッカー

The station has just one small JR bank outside the gate, with no suitcase-size units, but Koreatown's side streets are packed with cheap 24-hour private lockers (100-500 yen), several with a large or extra-large unit.

About

Shin-Okubo's only station lockers are to the right of the ticket gate, outside it, by the convenience-store entrance: about 8 working small lockers (400 yen) and 6 medium (500 yen) that take a carry-on at most. They accept 100-yen coins only, with no change machine. For a big suitcase, use the private lockers around the station instead. Within a three-minute walk along Okubo-dori and its alleys there are a dozen-plus small banks, for example beside the McDonald's alley (including a 500-yen large and a 700-yen extra-large unit) and in the Repark and Ecolopark car parks. They are open 24 hours but mostly cash-only, and some charge per 8 or 12 hours rather than per day. Read the label before you lock.
