About

Taito City's flagship tourist center faces the Kaminarimon gate across Kaminarimon-dori, in an eight-storey building by Kengo Kuma that looks like traditional houses piled one on top of another. The 1F desk works in Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean and offers free Wi-Fi and search terminals, currency exchange, SIM cards and pocket Wi-Fi rental, ticket arrangements, souvenir sales and information on cultural workshops and tours. There is also wheelchair and stroller rental, a postbox and stamp sales, and even local capsule-toy machines. The real draw is the free 8F observation terrace: the view runs straight up Nakamise-dori to Senso-ji's Hozomon and main hall, with Tokyo Skytree on the right. It stays open until 22:00, long after the temple grounds have emptied, and makes one of Tokyo's best free night views.
