About
Bonsai growers moved to Omiya from Tokyo after the 1923 earthquake, and a handful of famous nurseries remain along its leafy streets. Visitors can walk through some gardens and buy trees, pots and tools, and the city-run Omiya Bonsai Art Museum explains the art. The Great Bonsai Festival is held in early May.
