About

Historic farmhouses and other buildings from regions such as Iwate, Nagano, Nara, Miyazaki and Amami Oshima were moved here and rebuilt in a wooded setting. You walk between thatched houses, a rice storehouse from Dojima, a Sakai windmill and a farm-village kabuki stage. Some houses can be entered, and the museum runs craft workshops such as bamboo work.
