About

Since the kofun of Mozu cannot be entered and look like wooded hills from the ground, Sakai City Halls 21st-floor observation lobby is where you begin to grasp their scale. The 360-degree lobby at about 80 m looks south toward the dark green forest of Daisen Kofun and the smaller tombs around it, with panels explaining what you see; on clear days you can also see Abeno Harukas and Osaka's skyline to the north, the Ikoma and Kongo mountains to the east and Awaji Island and Rokko to the west. Entry is free, and it is open into the evening for a night view of Sakai. It is a 3-minute walk from Sakai-higashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line.
