About
Rakusai Bamboo Park was established by Kyoto City to collect and display bamboo, which the western hills of the city are famous for. Paths and stone steps wind through groves of many different species, and a small museum explains bamboo's uses in Japanese crafts and building. There are no crowds here, making it a good alternative for photography if the Arashiyama bamboo path is too busy.
