About

Sumoto Castle was built up by Wakisaka Yasuharu into one of western Japan's largest fortresses. Massive stone walls survive on Mt Mikuma, and a small mock keep built in 1928 (Japan's oldest concrete mock keep) serves as a lookout over Sumoto, Osaka Bay and the Kitan Strait.
