About

Kobe Municipal Oji Zoo opened in 1951 and is one of Kansai's most visited zoos. It keeps elephants, koalas, giraffes and many other species at a low admission price, and a small children's amusement area with gentle rides sits inside. The grounds also include the historic Hunter House, a Meiji-era Western residence, and the avenue of cherry trees is popular in spring.
