Sakura no Yama Park さくらの山公園
Narita's most famous plane-spotting hill, at the north end of Runway A, where landing jets pass low overhead when the wind is from the south, with cherry trees, a shop and free parking.
About
This small hilltop park looks straight down the line of Runway A, and when aircraft land from the north, usually in south winds, widebodies pass so low overhead that you can read their registrations. On other days you see departures rising towards you. In early April the park's cherry trees frame the planes, which is how it got its name. Sora no Eki Sakura-kan, the park's shop, sells local vegetables, plane goods and snacks, and has toilets. It is about 10 minutes by taxi from the terminals.
Highlights
